Each blade is processed from raw steel, heat treated, polished, finished, ground, etched, coated, inspected, and packaged all in the USA. Our vertical integration delivers a level of stability and control that few can match.

Crescent Manufacturing was established over 125 years ago in Fremont, Ohio where we continue to operate today. Our core responsibility to our customers is to produce the finest blades and edges for their unique applications.

While much of the industry has moved production elsewhere, Crescent Manufacturing continue to invest in custom equipment, domestic manufacturing, and people. We believe manufacturing matters. Not just for customers, but for the communities and families who depend on it.
Our manufacturing facility designs, develops, produces, packages, and ships our blades in-house. We produce millions of blades annually (exact figures available upon request). We supply blades to North America and Europe.
We engineer blades for the medical, food processing, and industrial sectors worldwide. Our portfolio ranges from Microtome and Dermatome blades that cut tissue samples as thin as 3-4 microns, to blades used to process protein and vegetables on all seven continents, to industrial applications ranging from dicing computer chips to chopping fiberglass.
We produce blades ranging from ¼” long to 40” in length and also are able to supply continuous coils of ground material for customer customization. Our team has the unique ability to work projects from prototyping less than 100 blades to production runs into the millions.
Our blades are the result of vertically integrated manufacturing, tightly controlled processes. From steel selection and stamping through heat treatment, grinding, finishing, and inspection, each step is treated as part of a connected system.
